Statue Making OR Bronze Casting is one of the Thirteen Traditional Crafts of Bhutan. The statue making is supervised by the Royal Government of Bhutan with nurturing over time by Bhutan’s Clergy and the Bhutan Royal Families.
The Bhutan Statues or Bhutanese Statues are all made from Red Copper/Bronze and then pure gold plated.
The Statues are either fully Gold Gilded, Just Face Gilded OR Face & Half Body Gold Gilded.
The Prices of the statue depends on the Gold Gilt on the statues.

WORLD’S BIGGEST BUDDHA STATUE IN BHUTAN:
Overlooking Thimphu, the Capital City of Bhutan, and perched on a hill Kuensel Phodrang, the world’s Tallest Buddha, standing tall at 169 Feet will be built soon. It will have 17 storied temples built within the Buddha structure.
This site will be a sacred and peaceful place to practice Buddhism, meditate and used as a retreat centre for all people from the different walks of life.
Presently the Buddha Statue is under construction.
The Bhutanese Traditional shoes are HAND MADE and is of knee length. These shoes are worn during special occasions with our traditional dress called GHO for men and KIRA for women.
They are beautifully embroidered and made from different materials from plain cloth to the costly silk,depending on ones budget and status in the society.
The textiles and handicrafts of Bhutan can be used as a decorative piece as they are one in a million and very colourful. The materials can be used as bed covers or wall hangings or even as decorative table and sofa covers.
The Bhutan Handicrafts and Arts industry had till recently been a cottage Industry.With Textile Industry the Rural people weave the materials. The weaving is done by the Rural villagers but they have now been trained to cater to people outside their villages and take up this weaving professionally and make it their means of earning a livelihood,rather than weaving as a hobby. Thus now we have a variety of weaving been done,with different materials and designs. Every design is different as all these materials are hand woven singularly.
They weave bed covers, table cloth, jacket materials,wall hangings etc… The materials used are all naturally dyed in different colours and are mostly silk,cotton or a mixture of the two. It would be a pride to possess one of these materials,as they are lovely,unique,one in a million and the sale proceeds help the women of Rural Bhutan.
The Textile industry in Bhutan is one of the main Handicrafts of BHUTAN. Usually the Guest and Tourists visiting Bhutan love the woven materials and they even wear them for the festivals in Bhutan,and take it back with them as a souvenir from Bhutan as they well know that they will never find another similar piece any where else in the world.
With the Bhutansese people some of these woven materials(handicrafts) are passed on from generations, since each piece is unique,with the years going by, each piece becomes more precious and soon becomes valueless…
